We want to hear about the current dry conditions this season
TasFarmers’ two Drought Resilience Coordinators, Sophie Folder and Tas Loane are keen to meet you at AgFest and understand more about how this dry season is impacting your farm.
Sophie and Tas have years of experience in dealing with drought and working with farmers making the hard calls. This has been very real over the past 18 -24 months.
Please come and have a chat over a free barista coffee about the current dry seasonal conditions and how you are preparing for potential drought conditions.
We’ll be there to listen and discuss your ongoing seasonal and production challenges and how to best prepare yourself for making informed decisions.
You will find Sophie and Tas in the TasFarmers tent at the Building Drought Resilience table.
We will be joined by coaches from the Resilient Farming Tas Program who can help you assess your farm business resilience risks, and build a Farm Business Resilience Plan with achievable actions to prepare you for future challenges and opportunities. You can find out more about the program, register and book your farm visit with a coach.
The TasFarmers tent is at 704, 706 & 708 in Seventh Avenue.
The Drought Resilience Coordinators provide central point of contact for Tasmanian farmers and industry in relation to drought and to understand regional needs and priorities. They work closely with State Government and the TAS Farm Innovation Hub to help inform the development and implementation of drought resilience building initiatives and to link farmers to programs, activities and services to build drought resilience.
We are happy to take your calls and can be contacted on:
Mainland Tasmania and Flinders Island: Sophie Folder, 0447 370 417
King Island: Tas Loane, 0428 293 377
We look forward to speaking with you soon.
TasFarmer’s Community Drought and Preparedness Coordination Project is funded by the Tasmanian Government and TAS Farm Innovation Hub (an Australian Government Future Drought Fund initiative).
