POSITION VACANT - Chief Executive Officer, Private Forests Tasmania
With the announcement of Penny Wells's transition to retirement as Private Forests Tasmania's chief executive after five years, the Board of Directors along with the State Government have commenced the recruitment process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer.
This position will provide authoritative policy advice to the State Government on all issues affecting private forestry in Tasmania and exercises statutory responsibilities under the Private Forests Act 1994. The Chief Executive Officer has responsibility for facilitating and expanding the development of the private forest resource in Tasmania, the management of Private Forests Tasmania and the development of policies and strategic options.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled and passionate team working closely with stakeholders promoting, fostering and assisting the private forestry and primary industry sectors on industrial scale plantations, private native forestry and farm forestry matters.
Private Forests Tasmania is an independent statutory authority governed by the Private Forests Act 1994 and administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania.
