Drought Ready Tasmania Action Plans

05 March 2025

Communities, key stakeholders and government have been working together to prepare community-led Regional Drought Resilience Plans. Three plans have been developed for the Southern, Northern and North West regions of Tasmania.

We’re excited to share that the draft action areas for each plan are now available for review and feedback through a short survey. It should take about 10 minutes.

The plans are jointly funded by the Tasmanian Government and the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.

Feedback will be used to help finalise and prioritise the action areas. Once completed, plans will be used to guide future funding for regional drought resilience initiatives in your region.

In the coming months, implementation of the plans will begin through a community grants program run by the Department of Premier and Cabinet. There will be $1.3 million to support the delivery of actions captured in the plans. Start thinking about a project you would like to deliver to help strengthen community drought resilience in your region. We will let you know when the grant program is open.

We encourage you to pass this onto your networks and those interested in building community drought and climate resilience.

Surveys will close on Sunday 23 February 2025.
