AG LOGIC Workshop on North East Tas soils, soil moisture and weather data

Location Scottsdale Library, 51 King St
Date Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 9:30am - 1:00pm
Duration 3h 30m
Repeats? No

Ag Logic are putting on a workshop aimed firstly at helping people understand their soils better, and then using that knowledge to increase their skills at managing irrigation.

Topics will include:

• The all-important link between soil type and soil moisture availability

• Learning how to assess what soil type you have

• An interactive session with local examples on how you can combine knowledge of soil type with soil moisture and weather station data to help make better irrigation decisions

Where - Scottsdale Library, 51 King St

When - Tuesday 30 April 2024, 9.30 am - 1.00 pm (morning tea and lunch provided)

We will bring along some soil samples for our practical activities (you need to get your hands dirty to analyse soils!). You don’t need to limit yourself to our samples though. If you want to bring some of your soil we can use that as well – 2-3 cupfuls of soil will be enough. That way you can learn the techniques, and also learn something about your place at the same time.

You’re very welcome to pass this on to other people you think might benefit from the day, including employees or friends.

We will be referring to our weather station network on the day. If you haven’t set up access to the stations in your area you can do this via this link: https://forms.office.com/r/fmy.... It’s free to use until the end of this June.
