Share your views on cat management in Tasmania

28 May 2025

Tasmanians are being urged to take part in a new statewide survey that aims to understand community attitudes and behaviours around responsible cat ownership.

The TassieCat Tasmanian Cat Management Survey invites both cat owners and non-owners to share their views on topics such as desexing, containment, and the impact of cats on native wildlife.

“This is a valuable opportunity for the community to share their views on how cats are cared for and managed in our state,” said Kylie Ashley, Regional Cat Management Coordinator from Cradle Coast NRM. “We want to hear from a broad range of voices – whether you own a cat, live next door to one, love wildlife, or have an interest in cat management in Tasmania.”

TassieCat is a state-wide initiative to promote and facilitate responsible cat ownership and management in Tasmania. The project is delivered by NRM North, Cradle Coast NRM and Ten Lives through funding from the Tasmanian Government.

The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete.
