Nominations Open for AUSVEG Board Director

AUSVEG is the prescribed peak industry body for the Australian vegetable and potato industries and is the leading horticultural body representing Australian growers.

The AUSVEG Board of Directors is made up of representatives from state member organisations, as well as Board-appointed skills-based directors. Nominations are now open to fill a position due to the retirement of the current TFGA representative.

The TFGA would like to thank Michael Radcliff who has served on the AUSVEG Board as the TFGA representative for the past three years. Michael has done an outstanding job of representing not only Tasmanian vegetable growers, but all vegetable growers at a national level. He has been an active and dedicated Board director, supporting both the organisation and the industry through the challenges of COVID-19.

Individuals wishing to nominate for the role must be:

  • A TFGA member.
  • A vegetable grower that is required to pay a National Vegetable or Potato R&D Levy because of their involvement in the Australian vegetable or potato industry.
  • Available to attend Board meetings (virtually and in person) in various locations around Australia on a periodic basis (typically four face-to-face meetings per year, at least two of which may run for two days).
  • Willing to make a strong and positive contribution to the industry at a national level.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Policy development and advocacy.
  • Strategy development and change management.
  • Export market development and market access.
  • Biosecurity.
