Livestock Operations Project Workshop

09 May 2024

The session is scheduled for two hours only, from 9 – 11 am this coming Friday 10 May 2024.

Consultation is underway to revise Certificate III in Feedlot Operations and 70 units of competency that support the skills to work in the livestock industry. With a workforce of over 123,000 people, it is important that the skills standards for working with and alongside livestock are kept up to date, so they reflect the latest technologies, equipment and animal handling techniques.

Peter Miller and Susie Falk from Skills Insight will present an overview of the review of Certificate III in Feedlot Operations along with the 70 other units of competency, predominantly AHCLSK units. These units cover a wide range of skills essential for individuals working with livestock, from basic tasks like loading and unloading livestock to more complex responsibilities such as escorting livestock during export and implementing and monitoring animal welfare programs. These units are incorporated into over 20 qualifications, spanning from Certificates I to IV and Diploma of Agriculture

If you fall into any of these categories, please join us for this workshop: Any Registered Training Organisation teaching these units, as well as farmers and companies involved in livestock, should express interest.

Please visit the project website, which contains all the details and provides access to an interactive Feedback Hub.
