TFGA is seeking Expressions of Interest for an Independent Director to join the TFGA Board.
The Board of TFGA is made up of eight Elected Directors and two Independent Directors. In accordance with the TFGA Constitution, the organisation is seeking expressions of interest to fill one vacant Independent Director Position.

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) is an active and powerful advocacy organisation dedicated to the best interests of all farmers, and to making a difference in rural communities in Tasmania. Our role is to advocate on behalf of our members to ensure that the challenges that face Tasmanian farmers do not go unanswered, and that our members can operate their businesses in an unfettered and sensible manner. About the Role
The Board will have responsibility to work with the management team in achieving the objectives for the organisation, in areas such as Policy Direction, Governance, Strategic Planning, Lobbying, Training and Risk Management.
Individual skills and expertise
Success will require individuals to have an understanding of agriculture with a focus on industry outcomes, conduct, respectful and robust discussions, and who are independent thinkers. We are seeking true leaders, ideally with Board experience. It is desirable that the incumbents have graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Company Directors Course or similar, and therefore have a sound understanding of Board and organisational governance and accountabilities, as well as strong financial literacy and interpretation.
It is vital that you have sound communication skills and can work within a team environment to achieve the best outcomes for TFGA.
