Workplace Protection Legislation

The TFGA commends the Government’s further public consultation of the Workplace Protection legislation.

The Workplace Protection Bill proposes a fine of $1730 and a jail term of 3 months for those who invade workplaces and endanger employees with Body Corporates also able to be fined.

Acting CEO Mr Marcus McShane said ’The TFGA backs the rights of everyone who lawfully want to take a stand and protest legally, however, we will not stand by and watch while our workforce is being put in danger, this bill is a step closer to ensuring that everyone can go to work, do their job and get home safely.’

The bill will be open for public comment until mid-April and TFGA will be engaging all parties to ensure its success.
