TFGA Announces Appointment of Interim CEO, Alastair Cameron

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Alastair Cameron as the Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Cameron, a retired farmer and esteemed past TFGA board member, brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering dedication to the agricultural industry. His valuable insights and profound understanding of the industry will undoubtedly contribute to the association's ongoing success during this transitional

Mr Cameron will take up the role of Interim CEO on Monday 31 July and will oversee business operations three days a week. This decision comes after the former CEO Hugh Christie left the organisation for a new role with the State Government.

TFGA President, Ian Sauer says the TFGA remains committed to ensuring the organisations advocacy and policy development efforts continue during this interim period.

Mr Sauer said, "We have opted for an interim measure to ensure a smooth transition while conducting a thorough search for a permanent CEO. The recruitment process will be meticulous, with no predefined timeline to ensure the appropriate candidate is selected.

"Mr Cameron's extensive background in the agricultural sector and his prior involvement with TFGA make him an ideal fit for the Interim CEO role.

"We are certain that under his guidance, the organization will thrive and maintain its positive momentum in advocacy and policy development," Mr Sauer said.

Mr Cameron's appointment reflects TFGA's commitment to advancing the interests of farmers and growers across the region.
