With a distinguished background in agricultural training and farming on the North-West coast, Mr Cox has been an active farm advocate for many years, having been a board member of Rural Business Tasmania, and the Rural Industries Training and Education Board.
President Ian Sauer said the TasFarmers board had unanimously supported Mr Cox's nomination as the new deputy chair, highlighting his dedication and forward-thinking approach.
Mr Sauer said, "We had an extremely productive board meeting, during which we resolved to hold an agricultural conference in 2025, moved to adopt a new membership platform, endorsed our federal election package, and elected Nathan Cox as the association's new vice president.
"Nathan has been deeply involved with numerous boards in the farming sector and has been an active member of the Vegetable Council and Wildlife, Policing and Firearms Committee.
"He is a long-term committed supporter of TasFarmers. He's been on the board for four years and currently chairs the HR and Governance Committee, the education and training committee.
"Nathan is a real forward-thinking, innovative and productive North-West farmer, always one to stimulate new ideas around the board table and is laser-focused on members' needs," Mr Sauer said.
Mr Sauer also paid tribute to outgoing Vice Chair Andrew Beven, who is stepping down after a decade of service.
"Andrew has been a stalwart of the organisation, providing steadfast guidance and a steady hand. The board and I are deeply thankful for his decade of service and commitment" Mr Sauer said.
With Nathan Cox as Vice President, TasFarmers is poised to build on its legacy of strong leadership and continue delivering for Tasmania’s agricultural community.
