The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) congratulates the Labor Party on a well thought out energy policy.
TFGA CEO Peter Skillern said that the policy would benefit the broader Tasmanian community and commended its innovative focus on farmers.
“Energy costs are a significant component of any farming business and policies that seek to arrest these rising costs are to be commended. The proposal to allow renewable energy generation, including solar panels, to be offset across farms is a well thought out initiative,’’ he said.
“These types of policies improve job opportunities and investment in renewable energy and lead to greater farm productivity. Both parties have now demonstrated a sound understanding of the importance of agriculture to the State’s economy.”
